How To Create A Gorgeous Tag Using Texture Paste and Distress Ink

I had a fabulous time this weekend creating some awesome new technique tag videos! I plan on sharing a new video every week. Please sign up for my YouTube Channel here: http://bit.ly/1TeEJLF

In this first technique video, I share with you how to create a fabulous art quote tag using texture paste and distress inks. My favorite thing about Ranger Distress Paste is that it absorbs color whereas other paste typically acts as a resist to inks.

Here are the supplies I used in the video:

Ranger Craft Sheet

Ranger Distress Inks: Seedless Preserve, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry

Ranger Texture Paste

Ranger Stickles: Starry Night, Aqua, Glam Pink

Ranger Mini Round Ink Blending Tools

Ranger Distress Stain: Dusty Concord

In my next video I’m going to share with you the difference between Ranger’s Texture Paste and Prima’s Texture Paste so be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/1TeEJLF Thank you for watching! Please share with your friends.

The best product at CHA – Dylusions Paints!

I’m so excited to share with you an amazing new product that will be coming to Scrap Diva Retreats soon! I experienced a fun and excited adventure at the Craft & Hobby Association Mega Convention (CHA) in Anaheim in January and of course fell in love with some new products that I had to bring home and share with you!

Dylusions Paint
Dyan Reaveley’s  new paints are amazing for art journaling and they match her Dylussions sprays which I’m in love with. They are so vibrant! I bought the entire set of 12 gorgeous, vibrant acrylic paints that complement and coordinate with her line of Dylusions Ink Sprays. I also bought some more Dylusions Ink Sprays. The paints are easily blendable, waterproof and dry quickly to a matte finish. You can also write over the top of them. They are perfect for art journalers! You can create beautifully blended backgrounds on paper or other surfaces. They dry quickly which makes it easy to doodle and journal without your pages sticking together.

The colors are so vibrant and they blend perfectly with the Dylusions sprays. Check out this art journal page that I made recently and posted on the blog.
I love Dyan’s bold, vibrant, fun colors and personality!

The next time you visit Scrap Diva Retreats make sure to check out the new paints!
Also…. I plan on announcing two more day crops this year! So be sure to join our Meetup group so that you are first to get the notification of the crops.
Have a fabulous scraptacular day!

Christmas Tea Party

We had some fabulous events recently at Scrap Diva Retreats that I wanted to share with you. Every year we host an annual tea party and this year we hosted two because the first one filled up so quickly!

Christmas Tea Party

On December, 6th 2014 we had our first fabulous tea party. We made adorable Reindeer Christmas cards using Close to My Heart “Cut Above Christmas Card Kit.”

Christmas Tea Party

We sipped on delicious loose leaf tea from Teavana. My favorite tea is Cocoa Carmel Sea Salt. Since we used it all I’m definitely going to buy some more!

We also enjoyed a fun gift exchange.

I hope you are having a very magical week enjoying the holidays with your friends and family!

I wanted to share a few short Christmas videos with you that I made and put on my YouTube channel. You can subscribe to the Scrap Diva Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/scrapdivaretreats

Here’s a short video on some fun 3D Christmas cards I made with the Close to My Heart Artfully sent circuit cartridge. It’s an awesome card cartridge that gives you the ability to make tons of pop-up cards and 3D card variations. I hope you see something you like and feel inspired to make some AWESOME cards of your own.

I also made a quick tutorial on how to make an adorable Christmas wreath.

Check out this video on Christmas tag ornaments I made using Julie Nutting Stamps. Each ornament tag was inspired by a stanza from Eartha Kitt’s song “Santa Baby.” This is my all time FAVORITE Christmas song. I think it’s a perfect “Diva” song…especially the part about diamonds!

Check out my awesome tutorial on how to make your own Christmas tags which can be used on gifts or ornaments. I used Julie Nutting doll stamps.

Halloween Cards & Tutorial

I had fun making this tutorial but I definitely have a new appreciation for professional teachers who videotape their classes! It took me an entire day just to make this 5 minute video! Of course I had missing QuickTime components and I had to go to the Apple store for two hours to reinstall iMovie! Nevertheless… it’s done!

I’m sure the process will get easier after I’ve had more opportunities to practice. This year my mantra is “done is better than perfect.” I’m trying to let go of some of my perfectionism tendencies. So with that in mind here’s the next video. I hope you enjoy it.
