Day 9 – Be Thankful For the Setbacks

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
Are also thankful for the setbacks.

We all have setbacks in our life, terrible events that occur and shake everything up. Usually as time passes, we are able to reflect on these moments of turmoil and see blessings of hope appear within the clouds of despair.

This is the best thing that could have happened

When one door closes another door opens. Sometimes it’s important to remember that everything happens for a reason and that I often won’t know the reason immediately.

This is the best thing that could have happened.

It’s a simple statement… But how could this change how you react to a situation?

You don’t have to believe it… And believe me… If it is something truly terrible you might feel you are lying to yourself the first time you say. But eventually if you repeat it every day….eventually in a week, month, year… You might find a blessing within every situation.

I learned this positive phrase from Caitriona Reed when I took her course on the Five Changes. Thank you, Caitriona for showing me that perspective changes everything.

Let Go

We learn to grow from character building experiences.

I am grateful for the setbacks I have had in my life:
– Homelessness
– Divorce
– Depression
– Job Loss
– Death

Sometimes moving backwards is the only way to move forwards.
