Closing Scrap Diva Retreats

Happy New Year Scrap Diva! It is a brand new year and with that comes some changes for us. It saddens me to tell you this. We have decided to close Scrap Diva Retreats.

It has been a phenomenal six years and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart; for your business and for your friendship. I know you look forward to retreating with me and that you have made a second home here. I have enjoyed every moment with you, scrapbooking and teaching mixed media classes. I’m always happy to see your smiling face and happy to share our home and life with you.

Scrapbooking and crafting is not just about preserving our memories and creating a piece of art but it’s about sharing our reflections about life with others. This is why I created Scrap Diva Retreats, so that we could have a community to share our scrapbook and craft passions with one another. This business was so much more to me than simply a way to make money. It was about sharing my passion for crafting and building a community. It was about inspiring you to make art that makes you happy and brings joy. I hope in some small way; I’ve made a positive impact on your life. I hope I’ve inspired you to dream big, reach for your goals and scrapbook your memories.

You have made a HUGE impact on me and I will always CHERISH the moments we have shared together.

After a lot of soul searching, I came to realize that my heart was no longer in the business. Last year, I read an amazing book about essentialism and how simplifying my life could make me happier. I need to free up my time to pursue other interests. “You can’t reach for anything new if your hands are still full.” This quote pretty much sums it up. There are so many things I want to do and my hands are too full to continue with the business.

On a personal note, I’m in the process of writing my childhood memoir. It will likely take me a couple years to finish it. Hopefully you will see an announcement by 2020. The book will be called the “Crystal Ship” by Kelly Hudson. As I get further along, I might create a blog or a website.

I hope you always carry a piece of the happiness and joy you found here. You have touched my heart deeply and I will always cherish the guest book you signed. I hope we remain friends and you don’t forget me. I still want to be a part of our crafting community. Please make me a personal friend on Facebook and keep in touch.

Thank you for everything!

Diva Vision Board Workshop

Hello Diva,

I’m so excited to share with you an easy 4-step process to create a vision board the Diva way!

4 Step Vision Board

I will send you a serious of free videos and free worksheets that will walk you through the process of creating an EPIC vision for yourself.

4 Easy Steps:

Do you want to accomplish your dreams, attract more positive energy into your life and start living with more purpose and clarity?

Then you will want to create a vision board! A vision board is basically a creative representation of your dreams, aspirations and the energy you want to attract into your life.

Here’s an example of a vision board I created which is about creating a new art space in San Diego called SoCal Art Diva.

One important item to include on a vision board are words that connect the feelings you want to have when you achieve your dream. For example, I added the words “connecting with like-minded souls” because I want to attract women that are happy to be there creating artwork.

SoCal Art Diva Connecting

I also added the birds and butterflies because I want to create a space where people feel free to soar creatively and express themselves.

Vision Board Butterflies

I added the message of “letting go of imperfections and accepting ourselves” because I wanted to remind myself to have fun, get messy and to be happy with imperfection.

Letting Go

Check out my other video where I share some of the vision boards I’ve created:

What are your thoughts about vision boards? What would you like to learn more about? I would love to hear from you in a comment.

The best product at CHA – Dylusions Paints!

I’m so excited to share with you an amazing new product that will be coming to Scrap Diva Retreats soon! I experienced a fun and excited adventure at the Craft & Hobby Association Mega Convention (CHA) in Anaheim in January and of course fell in love with some new products that I had to bring home and share with you!

Dylusions Paint
Dyan Reaveley’s  new paints are amazing for art journaling and they match her Dylussions sprays which I’m in love with. They are so vibrant! I bought the entire set of 12 gorgeous, vibrant acrylic paints that complement and coordinate with her line of Dylusions Ink Sprays. I also bought some more Dylusions Ink Sprays. The paints are easily blendable, waterproof and dry quickly to a matte finish. You can also write over the top of them. They are perfect for art journalers! You can create beautifully blended backgrounds on paper or other surfaces. They dry quickly which makes it easy to doodle and journal without your pages sticking together.
Dylussions Paints
The colors are so vibrant and they blend perfectly with the Dylusions sprays. Check out this art journal page that I made recently and posted on the blog.
I love Dyan’s bold, vibrant, fun colors and personality!

You can check out a video of her new paints here:

I also ordered a few extra Dylusions Creative Journals. Which I plan on playing with later this year as I work on my documented life project. You can also join the Documented Life Project for free so check out the link.

The next time you visit Scrap Diva Retreats make sure to check out the new paints!
Also…. I plan on announcing two more day crops this year! So be sure to join our Meetup group so that you are first to get the notification of the crops.
Have a fabulous scraptacular day!

Inspirational Whispers

Remember you create your own world with your intention. You create the future you desire!

This is the second post providing you some inspirational whispers on this Tuesday morning… In the first post titled “Intention is Powerful” , I shared with you the other side of the scrapbook page.

– Smile whenever possible & remember even when everything is going wrong, there’s an equally wonderful moment that you will eventually experience.

– A balance of good and difficult times is what life is all about.

I dreamt of you last night… Baby Gabby

I woke up in the middle of the night… startled to hear you. Startled because I wanted your soft feline “meow” to be next to me, yet my mind knew the harsh reality even as I was thrown abruptly awake from my dream. Without my permission, my mind accepted the knowledge that you were gone, while my heart refused this fact.

Do you know how much I love you?  I AM NOT READY TO LET YOU GO AND I WANT YOU TO COME BACK TO ME! Do you realize how grief stricken I feel? There is an empty whole within my heart and I cry for you constantly.

You have been fighting two and half long months since we were told it was your time to leave us. The chronic kidney disease finally took you away from us. You are finally at peace with your brother Dimitri in kitty heaven.

I named you “Gabriel,” an angel who serves as a messenger sent from God. You have brought (bring- I’m struggling to use past tense…) so much light and love into my life. You were always such a little guy and never gained much weight so I nicknamed you “Baby Gabby.” I felt guilty about this because people always confuse you for a girl but you are definitely a boy kitty who loves his mom and dad. We are so lucky you chose to be our companion.

My favorite memories…

– You loved to play with that yellow and orange stick toy we got from the dollar store 7 years ago!

– When I came home from work you would greet me at the door excitedly and then proceed to the sidewall – dip your your head down, push your butt up and expect me to pet you constantly.

– You slept next to me every night on my left side… purring your constant state of contentment.

– In the mornings… if I ignored the alarm clock you kindly meowed at me to get out of bed.

– From the moment you met David you were constantly pawing at him and helped me realize he was “the one” – You loved to put your face in his face!

– You loved to knead us, read our books and paw at our iPads whenever you got the chance!

I want to remember you happy and playful. I want to remember all of the light you brought into our life and I pray that you are at peace.

How do I go on without your constant love and affection?

Start Living with Unlimited Possibilities!

Start Living With Unlimited Possibilities!

What does being a possibilitarian mean to you?

To me it means that anything is possible, even my wildest dreams….even the wild dreams that I haven’t even considered yet! Here’s a few wild dreams I had last night:

♥  What if I take a vacation to Costa Rica next year with Flora Bowley, Kelly Rae Roberts and other artists to paint and inspire my soul?

♥  What if I wrote an autobiography that demonstrated the American rags to riches story and showed how someone from humble beginnings could achieve their wildest dreams…

♥  What if i created a blog with inspirational content that attracted a worldwide audience to pursue their dreams & realize it is possible to accomplish wild aspirations?

♥  What if I developed a female entrepreneur group that provided mentorship and support to one another?

♥  What if I created a program for “at risk” female youths that incorporated dream visualization, artwork and action planning into a system focused on enhancing self esteem and accomplishing big dreams?

♥  What if I created a series of positive affirmations/mantra art that was licensed and then mass reproduced on canvases, greeting cards and other merchandise to spread positive energy with the world?

♥  What if Oprah Winfrey wants to interview me because she is amazed by my positive energy, thrilled with my inspirational work and intrigued by my Autobiography?

I Believe I Can Fly

Kelly’s Mixed Media Collage

” I believe I can Fly”

In one of my reoccurring dreams as a child… I would fly. I would soar high above the world and soar into the clouds. Flying, wings and birds are all themes that frequently show up in my artwork. I’m taking an awesome online class by Ali Edwards called “One Little Word” and one of our assignments for March was to create a collage that was inspired by our word for the year.

My word for 2014 is Inspire.

This part of my collage says “Discover all the possibilities Live with gratitude”. This year I have found a lot of gratitude and it seems the more I recognize everything that I have to be grateful for, the more blessings come my way. This life is a miraculous, inspirational journey and I’m extremely grateful to be sharing it with all of you.

Inspired by Extraordinary Optimism

Optimism is one of those amazing gems that allows us to recognize we all have a choice how we view each situation. Think of all the miraculous opportunities and possibilities that can come your way when you view a situation with Extraordinary Optimism.

Think of how inspired you will be! Optimism is free it doesn’t cost anything.  When you walk into a room wearing optimism you are wearing confidence and since you are expecting a favorable outcome you have the power of intention to influence the situation.

op·ti·mism: “a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome”

Extraordinary Optimism is what opens hidden doors and it is often the magical key to open up hidden opportunities. It opens your heart and soul up to unlimited possibilities.

Believe in yourself

Believe that everything happens for a reason

Believe that whatever happens to you no matter how difficult it may seem… it is truly “the best thing that could happen to you”. Because if you truly believe this then your possibilities in life are endless.

Always believe in yourself and believe in the power of your dreams!

What does being a possibilitarian mean to you? What are your REALLY BIG Dreams?
